Publications

The Manchester Beth Din and Kashrus Authority produces a number of publications which we are pleased to bring to your attention. These are as follows:

THE LUACH

The Luach (Beth Din Calendar) is published annually prior to Rosh Hashono (Jewish New Year). Apart from containing the dates and times for the commencement and conclusion of Shabbos and Yom Tov as well as data relating to the correct time for putting on Tallis/ Tefillin and davening it also has information regarding the establishments that are supervised by the Beth Din. The Luach also has general information of other religious services that are available throughout the community. It is available in pdf form from this site.

THE VOICE

Prior to the High Holydays and Pesach, the Beth Din and Kashrus Authority publishes a magazine which is widely distributed. It is aimed at providing a vehicle for bringing to the community items pertaining to the work of our Organisation as well as other organisations that make up the communal spectrum. It has given an opportunity for local talent to shine. We welcome suggestions for items to be included in the Voice which, as its full title suggests, is not only our voice but that of the community. Anyone having difficulty in obtaining a copy is welcome to call our administrative offices.

THE GET (Jewish Divorce)

The Beth Din has produced an explanatory booklet dealing with all aspects of Get procedure. Whilst we endeavour to make this available to couples who are going through the process of religious divorce, it is of general interest. It is available on this site and copies will be forwarded by request to the Office of the Beth Din.
