It is a halachic requirement to either dispose of or formally transfer ownership of all chametz to a non-Jewish party prior to the commencement of Pesach. The sale the Manchester Beth Din performs  is a fully binding legal sale under both Jewish and civil law. All chametz included in the sale must be secured in a locked room or designated cupboard for the duration of the holiday. While it is standard practice to facilitate this through a local Rabbi, the Manchester Beth Din (MBD) provides a professional alternative for those unable to do so in person.
